The Overhead Foundation's STEM Tennis Wednesday and Saturday Program incorporates a different approach to tennis and education. Our program uses what we already have at our disposal to understand and create new life through the basics of agriculture. We will eventually grow our STEM program into our After-School Program where we will foster our initiatives M-F. Our STEM Tennis is unique because we will spend five months learning about the importance of agriculture as it relates to gardening and reusability. We will have specific seeds to plant. We start with individual planting pots. Then, we engage with the process of grooming dirt and planting seeds to growing flowers, plants and vegetables. We also learn the importance of functional usability and recycling as we rely on the clay court sprinklers to water our soil and we reuse plastic containers to house soil where our seeds will grow.
We will welcome invited and informed guest from around Atlanta as well as guest that enjoy being around kids, love to play to tennis, plant seeds and watch a fantastic thing grow!
