Programs

The N.E.X.T. SET initiative (Nurturing Emerging Xcellence in Tennis) is a pilot program designed to connect HBCU student-athletes with nearby Title I elementary schools through free tennis clinics, mentorship, and academic support. This program empowers underserved youth to thrive both academically and athletically, while providing college student-athletes an opportunity to earn coaching certifications, develop leadership skills, and serve as community ambassadors for the game of tennis.
Under the umbrella of The Overhead Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and registered USTA National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) chapter, N.E.X.T. SET is supported by the ATA South as its regional implementation partner. The Foundation was recently awarded a $10,000 grant to fund the inaugural pilot in Savannah. The funding will allow our program to establish a presense document success and model this program in other cities.

The Overhead Foundation will sponsor eight After School Tennis Program participants starting the Fall of 2026. The program will continue all school year and we are looking forward to adding PPA Junior Tournaments on our calendar as well.
